We believe that the prevention of accidents is both our moral obligation and good business. Our safety efforts are based on our belief that every working person is entitled to a safe and healthful workplace.
Our Commitment
Our commitment to the health and the safety of our employees goes far beyond compliance with state and federal regulatory requirements. We recognize that the protection of our employees, our property, the public, and the environment is essential to the efficient and successful completion of every staging and lighting project we undertake. Safety is more than a priority at Stage CMDR —we consider it a value. Our employees understand that safety is not something we do in addition to the work. It’s how we do the work.
Our Approach
We have created a company Accident Prevention Program that includes formal safety training, inspections, audits, and a formalized system of reporting. We train our managers, supervisors, and employees to identify and correct unsafe conditions and, more importantly, unsafe work practices. At Stage CMDR we recognize that accidents should be unusual and rare events and that most of them are preventable.
We maintain and continually improve a system that includes measurement of leading indicators as well as lagging indicators. Leading indicators predict the likelihood of an accident before it occurs, whereas lagging inducators measure events after the fact. Leading indicators support productivity and a proactive position.
The strong safety culture that Stage CMDR has developed supports and encourages our employees to watch out for themselves and one another. Our programs maintain active participation from management and supervisory personnel. We reinforce the belief that accident prevention has the same value as quality, morale, cost, schedule, environment, and production.
“At Stage CMDR we believe that sustainability begins with the safety and the well-being of our employees.” – COO Michael Pelina
