Stage CMDR West Office – Closed Mon 5/12 – Observance of AMGEN Tour of California Time Trial – Folsom, Ca

Folsom, California – This Monday, May 12, 2014, Stage CMDR – West Office, will be close all day in observance of the AMGEN Tour of California Time Trial cycling race.

All the roads in and around Old Folsom will be closed from 9am-5pm on Monday. The start line and finish line is nearly a 100′ away from Stage CMDR – West’s front door. Spectator crowds are expected to reach 10,000+. Street closures will not permit Stage CMDR clients to reach the office during normal business hours. The Stage CMDR – West office, will resume normal business hours on Tuesday, May 13 at 0900.

For the last 10 years, Stage CMDR has been a proud sponsor of many cycling races. The company has also been a title sponsor for some of the areas most well known cycling events.

Stage CMDR Chief Operating Officer, Michael Pelina quotes: “Many of our employees are cycling enthusiasts. We are excited that such a world renowned bicycling event is hosting the time trial right here in Folsom, just feet away from our front door. This race will showcase our little town to the world, putting it back on the map for everyone to see. This could retain the possibility of hosting more future entertainment events”

The 2014 Amgen Tour of California’s Race of Truth, the individual time trial, will be held in Folsom. The town of Folsom is just down the road from Auburn. The race has visited Folsom in the past, but this is the first year they have hosted a race stage. Folsom was established as a town to support the gold miners in the 1850s and for the Folsom Prison. Who will strike gold and who will be singing the “Folsom Prison Blues” at the conclusion of this stage?

The 12.5 mile route will begin and finish in Folsom’s historic district. A start on Sutter Street will be followed by a left turn onto Riley and a short downhill run onto the Rainbow Bridge and over the American River. The riders will then head north towards Folsom Lake. A right turn onto Folsom Lake Crossing will take the riders past the main entrance of California’s second oldest prison. A turn onto Green Valley will lead the riders to an 180° turn and back on the same route to a finish in Folsom’s historic downtown district. This is a fast and flat course. While there is good chance that we will see a new leader after Stage 2, don’t expect to see the yellow jersey leave Folsom with a large lead.
