Here are some frequently asked questions pertaining to pool cover rentals from Stage Commander:

Safety & Structural Questions

• How much weight can the plexiglass dance floor hold?

Depends on the size of the cover we build. Each one of our propriety pool covers comes with a structural engineered weight load rating. It’s so high we put cars on our covers.

• Is it slippery when wet?

If you selected plexiglass, yes, it can be slippery when wet or spilt drinks. Other surface types we offer are not slippery. We always advise clients to clean up spilled drinks as needed. In 22 years, nobody has ever slipped and hurt themselves on one of Stage Commander’s pool covers.

• Does it meet safety and engineering standards?

Yes. Our pool cover system is the single only system out there in the USA that is engineered, tested and certified for over the water use and it’s made by us, in the USA. Everybody else is using a system certified for on-ground use and NOT certified and rated for over the water use and/or they are using a cheap overseas made system.

• Can tables, bars, or a band be placed on the pool cover?

Yes. Many clients use our covers as a multi or single use for tables and chairs, band and dj’s, open dancing and vehicle displays.

Does your staff use a snorkel and fins when installing and removing a pool cover?

Yes and no. It depends if the pool is remaining full or being drained. If it is remaining full it depends on what the water depth is and the complexity of the tasks our dive team members need to perform while underwater. Vital tools that our company dive team members use are the same scuba and communication equipment that the Navy Seals and Special Ops diver’s use.

All of the dive team members are certified Commercial Saturation (SAT) Divers and members of the Stage Commander Underwater Stage Scaffold Dive Team. To become a Stage Commander dive team member, you not only have to be a SAT diver, but you must complete the company’s rigorous 4-week certification program. Not everyone that try’s out for the team, makes it through the program. If for any reason they fail the program, they cannot reapply for 8 months. Our divers are the best and toughest in the business. Since most of our staff comes from a military background of some sort, they are the spearhead of all company operations that enables us to operate like a military brigade. A trait you will not find with another other company in the country.

Size & Pool Compatibility

• Can you cover any size or shape pool?

Yes. Over 1000 plus pool jobs executed all over the country, there has not been one single pool design we could not cover. We do all the ones nobody else can do and many other companies often refer those pool jobs to us. What enables us to do this is because we designed our own system, and we do not sell it despite the large amount of requests we receive of people who want to buy it.

• What’s the largest pool you can cover?

We have covered several full size Olympic sized swimming pools. We have also had 2 running in the same week with the same event date and located at 2 opposite sides of the country. Our company covers any length, any shape, any width and any depth.

• Can you cover infinity pools?

Yes. Using our own system enables us to offer several different ways to cover infinity pools. We have extensive experiance in covering these types of pools.

• Can you cover spas or hot tubs?

Yes. This is a frequent request.

Design & Appearance

• Can it be frosted, solid black, or white?

Yes. We offer all these surface type options along with many other combos and variations.

• Can you add a custom monogram or logo?

No. We would direct you to source that from a local sign or decor company. Clients do this addition all the time. Depending on what you are doing whether its a full vinyal wrap or just a monogram, we will educate you on what surface deck option we recommend to select from us and why.

• Can lighting be installed underneath?

Yes. That is an available option we offer when booking any plexiglass option.

• What if my pool already has lights installed in it?

Normal pool lights generarlly are not bright enough to give you the kind of WOW effect you are wanting to have. Regular pool lights are to settle in most cases.

• Can flowers or decorations be placed beneath the clear floor?

Yes. We have seen and heard about it all. We are happy to educate you on all the previous experiences clients have done in the past. What worked and what didn’t.

• Do your pool covers come with a structural engineered stamped weight load rating?
• Can you drive any vehicle on top of your pool covers?

• When your business started, what type of rental company was it?
